Jeffery A. Kane, President

Jeff Kane began his insurance career in 1982 as a commercial lines underwriter with Hartford Insurance Group in San Francisco, CA.  In 1985, Jeff joined Transamerica Insurance Group in San Francisco as a senior underwriter.  The training, experience, and business contacts that Jeff developed in San Francisco still hold a key to the success that he has brought to KBK Insurance Agency.

Jeff joined KBK Insurance Agency (known then as Kane-Hall-Palmtag) in late 1986 and has remained with the firm ever since.  Jeff specializes in many areas, most notably as the lead producer for the many commercial homeowner association programs that he developed as well as the main producer and contact for all of the health insurance written thorough KBK Insurance Agency.

Jeff graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1982 with a degree in Business Economics.  He and his wife Karen, have two sons, ages 7 and 4.  Jeff has served on countless Non-Profit Boards and Committees throughout Santa Cruz County and is currently Vice Chairman of a local, private school.  Jeff is a member of the California Association of Health Underwriters, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Insurance Agents and Brokers of the West, and the Professional Insurance Agents Association of the West.  He is also a Past President and Assistant District Governor for Rotary International.

Edward K. Banks, CEO

Ed is a native Californian, born in San Francisco.  He attended local area schools, including Cabrillo College and graduated from Sonoma State College.  Ed started in the insurance industry in 1972, becoming involved in a local agency/brokerage in 1977.

Ed is a lifelong resident of La Selva Beach and Watsonville, having lived in Watsonville for the past 29 years.  He has been, at various times during his residency, involved with a variety of area youth and community groups.
